About Us

Copysound Training is an independent family run learning initiative established in 2011. We moved to the area in 2006 after twenty years working in the music, recording and duplication industry, based in Buckingham close to Milton Keynes.

We set up West Street Recording Studios in 1993 which ran for thirteen years. Also teaching Sound Recording Techniques to students at Peterborough Regional College for two years and private courses that ran from the studio for a further four years.

Day to day work involved demos and albums for hip hop artists, indie, folk and jazz bands, as well as projects for older well established rock and blues artists. Voice over artists of all nationalities were regular visitors recording voice for public sector, corporate and training products. We worked closely with local BBC radio for a while recording artists like Ronnie Scott as well as classical broadcasts including the Herts Youth Orchestra. A list of artists we have recorded is available on our mobile recording page

We provided location sound and composed original music for BBC 2 Learning Zone television series Teaching and Learning with IT. Original themes and underscores for a host of other independent corporate and educational video productions.

Our TV and Video music library offered many hundreds of tunes written and recorded by other composers. We addressed a range of copyright issues that faced us on a day to day basis.

Since moving to Somerset we have concentrated on our duplication business which operates from our home in Upton.

Copysound Training brings all these experiences together to provide a down to earth practical programme of creative sound engineering courses for our students.
